Born for the Battle

Born For Battle

The whole world is in a theatre of war. It is primarily a spiritual battle. Those who understand this need all the encouragement that they can get. I am writing for you who are awakening to and maturing in the exciting while sobering engagement of what it means to, “Fight the good fight of the faith” (1 Timothy 6:12).

Your focus is being fixed like that of our Lord’s, who was determined to honor His Father by doing His will “on earth as it is in heaven” when He, “resolutely set out for Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51).

Like David before Goliath in his uncompromising loyalty to the LORD Almighty, we have been summoned to join the ranks of the great cloud of witnesses and veterans, “who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose weakness was turned to strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign armies. Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated—the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground.

“These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect” (Hebrews 11:33-40).

Our lives are summoned to this faith! And we honor, salute and applaud these parents and soldiers for their service in blazing the trail before us, as we continue to fight, build and move forward, in step with the Spirit, toward the goal.

The kingdom of God is near! Consequently, there is great shaking, quaking and trembling occurring, both in the spiritual and natural realm. In line with this, those born for battle are causing great consternation among the ranks of the hordes of hell. Darkness knows what light exposes. They fear those who are free and fearless! They shake, quake and tremble at the arising, connecting and gathering of a great company who are learning to “live as Jesus did” (1 John 2:6).
