About HimOn
the Side of Truth At the time of Jesus’ birth, shepherds were told by an angel about this unique child, and what the signs would be to confirm the authenticity of what was proclaimed to them. If that wasn’t enough, a great company of other angels showed up also, to herald this good news. “When the angels left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord (meaning, God, through the angels) has told us about.’ So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen Him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them … The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told” (Luke 2). What the shepherds had been told they found to be true about Jesus. And they had to let others know about this extraordinary child. As Jesus had said just before His death and resurrection, regarding His birth, “… the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to Me” (John 18:37). The uniqueness of the Lord Jesus Christ is found in who He is and what He said. He
is the Rock on which to build our lives. As He said
